Venue
The SWS European Chapter Meeting will be held in the Hotel Mercure in Potsdam, 10 minutes walk from railway station
Potsdam Hauptbahnhof.
The Hotel is located in the historic city centre of Potsdam near
reconstructed Prussian city palace and the Lustgarten upon the river
Havel terraces. Get to this 17-story Mercure Hotel Potsdam City near
Nikolaikirche Church from Potsdam main train station right across
the river. The well-known Dutch Quarter and world famous summer
residence of Prussian Sanssouci Palace are only a few minutes walk
away. Apart from the stunning sights the hotel is
surrounded by different type of wetlands which are excellent areas for
having a little rest from the meeting (see images below). The hotel

By train
from Berlin Hauptbahnhof
Take the line 7, in the direction of Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (Central
Station). From there it is about 10 minutes walk. Crossing Lange
Brücke (Long Bridge) will take you directly to the hotel.

from the north
From the A10 (Potsdam-Nord exit), follow the B273 to
Zeppelinstraße for about 800m and turn left into Breite
Strasse (B1). After about 2 km you will see the hotel on the right
side. Further guidance
is provided by the hotel system of Potsdam (green road signs).
from the south
Change from the A9 to A10. Follow the A10 for 7.13 km. Leave the A10 at
Michendorf Junction (17) in the direction of the B2, Potsdam,
Michendorf. Follow the road for 305m. Turn right onto Potsdamer
Straße (B2). Follow the road for 2.75 km. You are now leaving
the village. Stay on the B2 and follow the road for 7.47 km. Now pass
the entrance of Potsdam. Leave the B2 and continue straight on the
Michendorfer Chaussee (B2). Follow this road and go straight into the
Leipziger Strasse. Follow the road to the traffic lights and turn left
onto Lange Brücke (Long Bridge). Continue 800m, the hotel is
located on the left. Further guidance is provided by the hotel system
of Potsdam (green road signs). In your GPS system you should find our
hotel under Special Destinations: Hotel.
By plane
from airport Berlin-Tegel
A taxi ride takes about 40 to 60 minutes. By public transport you can
reach the hotel by bus line 109 or X9 until the station:
“Berlin Zoologischer Garten”. From there, continue
with the Tram on line 7, in the direction of Potsdam Hauptbahnhof
(Central Station). From there it is about 10 minutes walk. Crossing
Lange Brücke (Long Bridge) will take you directly to the hotel.

By public transport you can reach the hotel by Airport Express until
the station: “Berlin Ostbahnhof”. From there,
continue with line 7, in the direction of Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (Central
Station). From there it is about 10 minutes walk. Crossing Lange
Brücke (Long Bridge) will take you directly to the hotel.
